Troubleshooting

Every row quotes a message these commands can actually produce. Find your message, then apply the remedy. The CLI prefixes every diagnostic with its level: [INFO], [WARN], or [ERROR]. An error that ends a command is wrapped as [ERROR] <command> failed: <message>, so the same message reads recon failed: under agentgg recon and scan failed: under agentgg scan. Report lines carry no prefix.

Symptom	Cause	Remedy
[ERROR] scan failed: 'sql-injectio': no installed agent with that slug. Run `agentgg agents list` to see what's available, or pass a path to a .md file.	`-t` or `--template` names a slug that is not installed.	Run `agentgg agents list` for the exact slug, or pass a path to the `.md` file. See Choose agents.
`[ERROR] create failed: --report: unsupported file type .json (only .md and .txt are supported)`	`agentgg create -r` points at a file that is not markdown or plain text.	Save the report as `.md` or `.txt`, then pass it again. See Create from reports.
`[ERROR] Generated agent failed lint: <parse error>. The model produced an invalid spec; raise --max-turns or retry.`	The model produced an agent file that fails the schema check.	Run `agentgg create` again, or raise `--max-turns`. See Create from reports.
`[ERROR] remove failed: No user-installed agent with slug 'sql-injection'. (Built-ins can't be removed; custom/ is for user additions only.)`	`agentgg agents remove` named a built-in slug, or a slug with no custom install.	Run `agentgg agents list` to confirm the slug is a custom install before you remove it.
`[WARN] Could not auto-install agents: Failed to download agentgg-agents: 404 Not Found`	The first scan could not reach GitHub to download the official catalog.	Check network access to GitHub, then run `agentgg agents update`. See Manage agents.
